Peppermint for Hair

Peppermint oil is increasingly studied as a natural treatment for hair loss, particularly androgenetic alopecia. Its main mechanisms include improving scalp circulation, stimulating hair follicle activity, and exhibiting antimicrobial properties that may support scalp health. Animal studies and small clinical trials suggest peppermint oil may increase hair density and thickness, but large-scale, rigorous human studies are lacking. While promising, peppermint oil is primarily considered a complementary therapy rather than a replacement for FDA-approved treatments like minoxidil or finasteride.
